What is the Political Courage Test?

New Hampshire Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe that pro-choice is a matter of protecting the right of women to have bodily autonomy. It is basic and necessary.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
I believe it makes sense to put more tax responsibility on those most able to bear it, the richest among us, and that we are spending more than necessary on our military, which already outspends the next several nations combined.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I believe that only registered voters should be able to make campaign contributions.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Our corporate taxes are not excessively prohibitive. We could improve them by removing carry-backs, allowing carry-forwards to ten years instead of five, and cleaning them up in many other ways.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
We are an integrated nation. Places held to lower standards will not be able to survive economically compared to the most educated areas of our country.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
It's crucial for us to stop global warming in its tracks, to the greatest extent possible, then export these technologies through out the globe.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I believe that the need for background checks is real, and that owners of firearms need to properly secure their weapons, and ammunition separately from each other. It is important to keep weapons outside of the hands of domestic abusers, as well as those who are unable to control their desires for violence.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Healthcare for all is crucial. If anything, I want to expand medicare to cover all Americans and transition us into a single payer system.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
We shouldn't deport anyone unless guilty of a felony which isn't entering the country illegally. Immigration has always been a great blessing to America and can continue to be so into the future.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
Yes Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
I believe our intervention should be as limited as possible and only used when diplomatic measures fail. Blood is the most expensive resource America can expend. We must act peacefully as much as possible to actually achieve peace.
I believe that we can, by decreasing military funding, help create debt free public education through the trade school and college level. This will raise incomes in the longer run, helping to pay back its costs. The minimum wage needs to be raised to a healthy living wage and linked to inflation.
